▮質問 1

Do you play any mobile games?

サンプル回答

Yes, I do. My work can get very demanding, and I get stressed out . It’s difficult to just close my computer, and go home. I’ve got to press ahead . In times like this, I give myself a little space. I play mobile games . It helps me feel relaxed. I feel happy as if I’m like a child again. I try to enjoy it for a while, or until I feel like . I’m ready to get back. I have a child’s game. All I have to do is to combine at least 3 similar things. Then, I get a reward, and I’ll be able to design my garden. It’s my short escape from my stresses and strains.

Describe any game that you like to

play. You should say:

  • what it is
  • when you play it
  • how often you play it

And how you play it.

サンプル回答

I really like to play tag. In order to play the game, we need at least 3 people to join the game. One person tries to catch the other two . If he touches one of them, he should say, tag your it. Then the next person shall run after the others. I know it doesn’t sound fun, but the bigger the group, the better I used to play this when I was a child In our neighborhood, children went to the playground to play, and we played this. There are a lot of children there, so I got to meet a lot of people. We used to play this almost every day. We’d start around 3 pm until dusk It was so much fun. I don’t get the chance to do that now because I’m an adult I think even though I’d press upon them, they would see it childish. Yet despite all the games online games, mobile games, etc. I hope to introduce this game to my children and their friends so they can try this old school game.

▮質問 1

Have you had problems with your car?

サンプル回答

Funny that you asked because I just sold my car. It’s quite old and had a lot of things to fix. I decided a few months ago to let it go . The first time I got into a problem was when I was driving off out of the city. I was surprised that the car broke down. I tried to turn it back on, but I didn’t hear a single sound. I had to call my mechanic to pick me back and tow my car. It was in the shop that I found out that it ran out of battery. My mechanic said that it’s up for replacement. The second time was when I was trying to get rid of my sofa. I was almost at the garbage bin when, again, it doesn’t want to start. That was the last straw. The next month, it’s either I’d sell or throw it

But, with the family and the kids, SUV is better Seven people can get to sit comfortably inside . There’s a space if we have groceries or extra things. We are saving money to buy a good car. I’m helping my husband with the funds. I try to give as much as I can, though it’s a little challenging. We hope to purchase it by the end of the year. We are driving up our savings by selling things that are not important to us. We had garage sales and online selling. It was amazing! If I get hold of the SUV, I’m sure my family and friends will get on, and ask for a road trip

I have an interesting story about that. When my brother and I were young, we had a great help at home. Our housekeeper cleaned the house It had been so easy for us. We got out of bed, and she made the bed. We had our breakfast ready, and we just had to eat and go or play. When we reach our teenage years, our mom decided that we should learn about life, and do things on our own. Our housekeeper also got married, and mom doesn’t want to find a replacement. Fortunately or unfortunately, from then, we were left to clean up the rooms, the house, and the yard Everybody, including my mom and dad, had to divide everything. It wasn’t that bad We got used to it

A lot of schools require students to participate in a cleanup day It’s the time when we had to clean off everything. It’s not as bad as you might think because it was actually fun. I remember all the students were out in class and got their cleaning tools ready. Then, I heard teachers giving instructions on where to start and how to do things Usually, the teacher divided the class into groups like the window team, the table team, the chair team, etc. This sort of activity is given to promote hygiene and camaraderie among students It also encourages tactics and efficiency. At that time, I didn’t seem to agree because work and I simply didn’t blend in. But in retrospect, it makes sense. And don’t get me wrong, I didn’t like cleaning, but I liked the atmosphere of the activity. It was lively and exciting. Plus, I didn’t get to study! That was the best part I can remember.

▮質問 1

Do you regularly save money?

サンプル回答

Yes, I actually save money regularly. The bank automatically transfers fund from my paycheck monthly. But I also often spend what I’ve saved up for a few months because of emergencies and lack of funds So, it looks like I haven’t saved any money, when I actually did Still, I was able to buy something that I’m proud of from the money that I had set aside for months. I don’t want to pay by credit card since I believe I’ll be in more debt So, I had to stop eating out and be a lot more thrifty I don’t buy anything I don’t need just to gather money for something that I really want, which I think is actually a good thing I can discipline myself to save But I guess I should still restrain myself more to save for the future, especially for my retirement. It’s been a wish of mine to buy my own home and to build a business when I’m a little older so I can stop working and focus on earning while I’m at home I also want to retire earlier and travel the world . I have so many goals, but I still don’t have anything saved for the long term, so I’m kind of a little frustrated with myself. That’s why I told myself that this time around, I’d create another account where I’ll set aside some of my money, and it will be for future, long term goals instead of new stuff or new gadgets.

▮質問 2

Describe a time that you save money for something expensive. You should say:

  • what the thing is
  • how much it cost
  • how you come up with the money

And why you want to buy it

サンプル回答

One of the first times that I saved money for something was back when I wanted to get my own PlayStation.  I’ve always been a gaming fan ever since I was a kid, so I vowed to myself when I was younger that if I get a good job, I’ll set aside money to buy my gaming console It has also been such a long time since I was able to hold a game controller and relaxed and played for hours, and I wanted to try gaming again since I feel like it was able to help me when I was a little younger. When I’m stressed with school work, I will spend maybe a couple of hours playing, and it relaxes me I think it also helps me enhance my cognitive functions, as I have read that somewhere before Around that time, a PS 4 is still around 399 which was quite expensive So it was kind of a long while after I have collected enough money to get my own unit and a few games I have been dying to try I should also say that a game costs around 10 to 30 but it was a good thing that I was able to find second hand games, so I was able to save more money.  My work pays well, so I was able to set aside quite an amount I’ve also taken up freelance writing jobs since I liked to write a lot, and I figured I could use my talents and get paid.  Thinking back, I really made an effort to earn more I’d also do my best to be as thrifty as possible Instead of eating out, I’d cook my own food and do meal preps I also started to use energy saving light bulbs so I can save on my electricity bill.  I also didn’t go shopping for a long while I can’t help but be proud as I was able to restrain myself.

▮質問 1

Do you like rainy day?

サンプル回答

In general, I like rainy days I’m a huge homebody and the type of person who gets incredibly happy when plans are canceled so I can just stay home and most of the time, I can cancel any plans I have of going out when it rains I also love the weather It’s cold, but not too much It’s the right temperature to wear sweaters and stay under the covers It’s a great time to be lazy since you can’t go out I live with my best friend, and we rent an apartment close to our jobs, so during rainy weekends, we stay most of the time and played board games like Monopoly and Scrabble But, while I do love a rainy day, it still sometimes bothers me Like, when it rains on a weekday, and I have to go to work It’s tough to go out and avoid getting wet I don’t have a robust immune system, so I get sick quite easily Plus, it’s even harder to commute I have to walk for a couple of minutes to the bus stop Light rains are okay, but if it’s pouring, I typically have to bring an extra pair of shoes or an extra skirt since I’ll definitely get well There’s also a limitation with my love for rainy days I’m not really fond of heavy rains and massive storms I feel anxious every time it rains for a long, continuous time, or when there’s a strong gust of wind that goes with it

Describe a time when you experienced heavy rain or typhoon. You should say

  • when it happened
  • where you were
  • who you were with

And how you felt during the typhoon.

サンプル回答

The very last time I experienced a heavy typhoon was last Christmas. I live in the city close to my work as a writer for a magazine that focuses on the entertainment industry. It has been a few months since I was able to visit my home, so I was pretty excited to go home and spend the holidays with my family. I got there a day before Christmas eve, so I got a day to relax and just catch up with my family and relatives. The day before Christmas, we were all busy preparing our home for a little Christmas eve party we were hosting. We never really had time to check the TV, and the radio was pretty much for music only So, we didn’t know that the storm was on our way However, we did see signs that it’s going to rain It’s just we never expected such a torrential downpour and strong gusts of wind. Fortunately, we were able to have dinner, and the adults even had a few drinks and had fun before the storm came. Some of our guests were able to go home, too, so it was good that the typhoon came a little late. But as soon as it hit us, the electricity was out. We were in complete darkness as the heavy rain drummed on our roof, and the wind made even the biggest trees around us dance. We were pretty anxious since some of the trees have already fallen. Good thing we were all safe after the storm, but a lot of trees and plants around us weren’t so lucky. Basically, we spent Christmas day clearing our surroundings . Not the best celebration, but at least we were safe

▮質問 1

Why do eat in a fast food restaurant?

サンプル回答

I honestly love eating out at fast food restaurants, because I seriously love their food, maybe because I grew up with fried chicken, French fries, burgers, pizzas, and desserts I know it’s not healthy, but it’s not daily, so don’t worry What I meant was my parents would always bring my siblings and me out to the mall on some weekends, and we’d always have lunch at different fast foods, depending on our moods and what we wanted to eat I would then remember we would run towards the play area and play for nearly an hour or maybe even more after eating and our mom would always sit at our table and watch us from afar while our dad is responsible for dragging us out of the playground if we have played too much Although I can’t enjoy the mini playground inside some of the fast food restaurants here, I still have fun memories with my friends or even with my parents And have I said their food is actually delicious? Well, some places can’t get the taste of certain menus right, but other fast food restaurants do If you want to get the best pizza, there are few places for that, but if you want chicken, get it from another store At least that’s my opinion Still, I honestly do love eating fast food

That’s a tough question! I actually love a few places that offer some excellent food but I guess I’ll go with KFC It’s an American fast food restaurant chain that has hundreds of stores around the globe I think each country gets its special menu, but the fried chicken recipe remains the same, and that’s what I love about it I actually prefer spicy fried chicken more than the original one It has a kick that isn’t painful but instead will make you want to eat more I can probably eat up an entire bucket by myself, but I do restrict myself most of the time because I know it’s not a good decision I don’t want to pay the price in the future Unfortunately, I don’t eat as much in any KFC store for quite a long time The last time I ate at one was around eight months, I guess? I was with a friend at that time, and we were just roaming around the mall We spotted a KFC and since we both love the place, we decided to eat there But really, that was the last time I ate at KFC or any fast food restaurant I’m really trying to watch my health and my body this year, so I haven’t had fast food for a while Still, I love KFC They have the best chicken for me, and chicken is one of my guilty pleasures But for now, we need to take a break so I can focus on my fitness goals!

Do you have friends since childhood?

Yes, I do have a few friends from my childhood. We went to the same school when we were young, and we also went to the same high school. We’ve had such a long time to get to know each other well. We did separate ways after graduating from high school We each pursued different fields and didn’t have that much time to see each other because of our school work, but we still connect on social media from time to time Although we don’t really spend a lot of time together, we still have a strong bond I guess that’s because of the years we have spent together since we were kids Things have changed a little though, they have new sets of best friends and I have mine But that really didn’t matter I believe everyone grows and it’s normal to gain friends as we grow older, but that doesn’t mean your childhood best friends are no longer going to help you when you need them, or listen to your problems and help you feel better I’m just thankful I found friends that aren’t jealous of my old and new friendships

サンプル回答

I really admire my mom’s friendship with her best friend, who is pretty much like an aunt to me and my siblings, so I guess I’ll call her Aunt Millie for the story Anyway, they actually didn’t get along well when they first met during middle school. My mom thought Aunt Millie was too much of a free spirit and she wasn’t really the type to hang out with those types of people as my mother is rather reserved and shy But, their teacher teamed them up for a school project and everything is history. They were inseparable since then They even went to the same college, just with different degrees. But they did get a dorm room together so they can still hang out despite their busy schedules Back then, handheld phones weren’t that much of a thing, so I kind of understand why they wanted to stay together as much as possible. After all, college is tough without some friends you can lean onto and who will listen to you rant about projects and professors . After graduating, my mom had to move away, and that was the first time they separated But no matter how hard communicating can be during that time, they still found ways. They would talk for hours on the telephone every now and then Or they would send each other mail and postcards I really admire their friendship since they have been through so much together, but they still trust each other I know they also had a big fight a couple of times before, but they still found it in themselves to forgive and to form a stronger bond than before I really wish I can find a friendship like that.

What is the famous university in your country?

サンプル回答

That’s a great question. There are several famous universities in my country, but I guess on top of the list is the University of the Philippines or also known as UP It has several campuses around the country, so every student who wants to attend it can have access to it However, you have to study for and pass an entrance exam before you can enroll in any courses offered in all of its branches. Many would say it’s a school for big dreamers especially since graduates from UP are regarded as among the best of the best After all, the level of education there is definitely of the best quality You can learn from well -known personalities in their fields, plus you’re also taught to be more outspoken about your beliefs and to fight for them Almost everyone I know who came from UP is an achiever I guess you just evolve into one with the kind of competitive nature that UP has But instead of competing against other people, the school wants you to compete with yourself and become a better version of yourself.

I studied at the University of the Philippines, and I am proud of that My school, also known as UP, is regarded as one of the top performing schools in my country It’s also on the list of the best schools around the world So, UP has many different campuses around the country so young people from its surrounding provinces can attend the school if they want to There are probably millions of students in UP, and they can’t fit all of them on a single campus, so I guess it’s a fantastic way to ensure more young adults could get a quality education without paying for thousands of pesos every semester as tuition fee There’s also no uniform, unlike many different institutes and universities in the country, so everyone just wears casual clothes to their classes every day You can wear a pajama on my campus, and nobody will bat an eye, especially since there’s a dormitory near us Anyway, nobody did encourage me to choose UP I chose it myself It’s my dream school, and I am incredibly proud to have passed the entrance exam, which was pretty tough But life in school is tougher, I have to study with my friends all the time to maintain my grades and it’s not the easiest since the professors in our school are among the best in their field Still, I chose UP because I know I’ll be getting a quality education, and I just love how it can transform every student into a fighter and the best version of themselves.

In high school, I had to write a report on a famous artist It was for a project in my art class Although I know certain artists, I’ m not well versed with what happened to any of them and the list of their works I only know a couple of paintings, but I m not entirely sure about their titles Anyway, I chose to work on Vincent Van Gogh, the man who painted the famous Starry Starry Night painting I chose him because he had a rather interesting but sad life I am deeply interested in knowing more about him and his work I remember the time when I was searching on the local library s computer I often kept a few tabs open, and I made sure I was using the right keywords to search Since I was in the library, I also opted on using a few books as my sources I always had to go after school, and I spent at least a couple of hours for my research Most of the time, I really wanted to go straight home I don t want to bother my worrywart mom, but it’s for my grades so I just had to bear with it

▮質問 1

Have you been to countries with different cultures as yours?

サンプル回答

Unfortunately, I haven’t been to any other country yet, but I would love to Besides the beautiful places I want to visit, I also really want to experience a different culture If given a chance, I would love to learn and experience the culture of Polynesian people I believe they have one of the most amazing cultures in the world that have survived years I love how even men dance the hula, and they still look so manly and powerful, proving that men could be soft but powerful at the same time If I get to visit any Polynesian country, I’ll definitely engage in hula dancing Everyone there makes it look easy, but the truth is I know it’s incredibly hard I’d also want to try living in the villages and seeing how simple their lifestyle is and how they rely more on nature to provide for them Of course, part of a man’s culture is their food, so I’d want to try some authentic Polynesian cuisine

explore. You should say:

  • what country it is
  • what culture do they have
  • what their daily activities are

And how their culture is different from yours.

サンプル回答

I m engage with an organization in Mexico, but we mostly do business online. I hear a lot about their culture, and I want to explore and experience it. I heard so much about them and see their films and TV shows. I have always been intrigued They are superstitious people, and I find it interesting how they still have these beliefs despite living in such a modern world For example, I have an online Mexican friend who taught me a few superstitions that only Mexicans will understand, such as they can’ t make tamales when they get angry or it won t be fluffy Or that a child should pass under your leg in the opposite direction if they passed under it before or else they won t grow to their full height. I take after my mother and she does’n t believe these at all, still I m really interested in their superstitions I also love how they celebrate several important dates, such as the Day of the Dead I think they have the same daily activity with us, but how they see things are different We re more idealistic and realistic, and they are more passionate I guess that s why they are completely different from us
