33. 場所・位置・方向を述べる
写真の中や目の前に見えるものの位置関係を示しながら表現するために必要な言い方を確認していきましょう。in front r手前の」、in back「後ろの」、in front of…「…の前の」、behind…「…の後ろに」、in the foreground「前景に／の」、in the background「背景に／の」、in the center of「•••の真ん中に／の」など多様な言い方を身につけましょう。
◎In front「手前の」
The boy and girl in front are likely brother and sister.
手前の少年と少女はきょうだいのようです。
◎In back「後ろの」
If that is true, the woman and man in back must be the parents.
もしそうなら、後ろの女性と男性は両親のはすです。
◎In front of…「…の前に」
This picture shows a person sitting in front of a lake.
この写真には、湖の前に座つている人が写っています。
◎behind …「…の後ろに」
There’s a bike behind her, so I think she rode here.
彼女の後ろに自転車があるので、ここまで自転車に乗ってきたのだと思います。
◎in the foreground「手前に；前景に」
In the foreground a train is coming out of a tunnel.
手前では、電車がトンネルから出てくるところです。
◎In the background「背後の；背景の」
The tall buildings in the background must be office buildings.
背景にあるビル高いピルはオフィスビルに違いありません。
◎in the center of…「…の真ん中に」
There are “double-decker” buses in the center of the picture.
写真の真ん中に2階建てバスがあります。
◎on the left side of…「…の左側に」
On the left side of the picture is a European-style phone booth.
写真の左側には欧風の電話ボックスがあります。
◎on the right「右側に」
On the right, the Tokyo Tower is brightly illuminated.
右側では、東京タワーが明る＜イルミネーションされています。
◎in the middle「真ん中の」
The man in the middle is holding a piece of paper.
真ん中の男性はひと切れの紙を握っています。
◎on the left「左の」
The woman on the left is a customer.
左の女性はお客さんです。
◎next to…「…の隣の」
There’s a cup next to her on the bench.
ベンチの上の彼女の隣にはカップがひとつあります。
◎ around…「…の周りに」
