because there are only five children in the picture. The party
could be at a restaurant. Or, it might be at one of the kids’
houses.

Speech 2
Only four of the children are wearing hats. All five of them are laughing,
though. I wonder whose birthday it is. It’s hard to tell. Perhaps the one
in the middle. Certainly, they are all having a good time.

Speech 3
There are several bottles of sodas on the table. Some coffee
cups are in front of the bottles. This is strange, since children
don’t usually drink coffee. It’s possible the cups were for soup.

certainly rental boats.

It’s not snowing or raining, so I don’ t think bad weather caused
the accident.

Speech 2
The man’s car is badly damaged. The picture doesn’t show the
woman’s car clearly. I think it was the man’s fault. Maybe the
man was following too closely. Perhaps the woman stopped suddenly.
Then again, the man was possibly texting and driving.

Speech 3

Question 1
Hello, I’m calling about a conference on May 27. I saw advertised in the newspaper. It’s about starting your own business. I was hoping you could give me some information.

Could you tell me what time the conference starts and how long it will last?

Question 2

Question 3

< Actual Test Flow >

After materials are displayed on the computer screen, participants are given 45 seconds to review them. After 45 seconds, they will answer three questions. For the first and second questions, they will have 15 seconds to answer after a 3-second preparation time. For the third question, they will listen to the audio twice and then have 30 seconds to answer after a 3-second preparation time. The first and second questions will ask about basic details of the materials, such as “when, where, who, and what.” A concise and accurate answer will suffice. The third question will ask about more complex issues, such as multiple relevant sections or exceptions. It is necessary to quickly read the details of the materials, summarize the content, and convey it.

< Answering Tips>

For Questions 7-9, “Response to Presented Information,” you will almost simultaneously listen to the question, read the material in a short time, and convey the information to the other party. Given the setting is akin to handling over the phone, there is no time to prepare your answer, so quick and accurate responses are required. This may sound like a very complex problem, but by focusing on key points, you can answer without panic.

The process is as follows:

Review the material (e.g., seminar schedules, travel itineraries) displayed on the screen for 45 seconds.
The narrator speaks, then asks the first question, followed by a beep sound.
Answer the question within 15 seconds.
The narrator asks the next question.
After the beep sound, answer within 15 seconds.
The narrator reads the last question twice.
Answer within 30 seconds.
TIPS (Strategies)

The materials presented could be seminar timetables, travel schedules, event schedules, etc.

Most questions are set as “inquiries” about events or travel schedules.

Therefore, questions often start with the following words or phrases:

Question Content & Patterns

Starting with:

Where
When/What time
Who
Which
How
How much
How long
How many
Or

I’d like to know ~

Could you tell me ~?

Could you give me ~?

“Is this correct?” (Is the information correct?)

“Can I do ~?”

“What should I do for ~?”

Questions involving reading information require reading skills, including comprehension.

Since the texts and materials are not overly complex, practice quick reading.

Also, since the questions are not displayed on the screen, listening skills are also necessary.

Practicing continuous and natural conversational exchanges and getting accustomed to speaking in English is crucial.

As a strategy, increasing opportunities to engage in English conversation through classes, schools, or online can be effective.
