Young Adults－親と同居の米若者、史上最高 コロナの影響も
米国で親と同居している18～29歳の若者の割合は過去最高の52％に上り、原因の一端は新型コロナウイルスにあるとの調査結果が4日発表された。
米国では今年2月から5月の間に、少なくとも1人の親と同居している18～29歳の割合が47％から52％に上昇し、この割合は7月も変わらなかった。
ピュー・リサーチ・センターは、親と同居する割合が増えたのは、生活苦にある若者が受けた新型コロナウイルス流行の影響も確かにあるが、長期的な傾向だと指摘している。
A new study from the Pew Research Center has revealed that most adults under 30 years old are now living with their parents. The study says the number of 18- to 30-year-olds who live at home has hit an 80-year high. Around 52 per cent, or 26.6 million, of young people are at home with one or both of their parents. Researchers say that not since 1940 have so many of the younger generation lived with their parents. Only in the Great Depression of the 1930s was the percentage higher.
