drop-dead gorgeous 　驚くほどきれい

「 驚くほどきれい」って英語ではどう言うんでしょうか？

アメリカでは　　”drop-dead gorgeous ” といいます。

She was drop-dead gorgeous.

彼女は驚くほどきれいだった。

美しさを強調する表現です。gorgeous だけでもゴージャスさが伝わりますが、
副詞 drop-dead （意味は extremely ＝極度に）を加えて強調しています。

very beautiful をさらに威勢よく言ったものです。最初は女性専用の表現でしたが、

最近では男性にも使われるようになりました。

“Drop dead !” だけだと「うるさい」, 「あっちへ行け」という意味になります。

直訳すると

｢(目の)見えないデート｣

ですが、
