著者の技巧についての問い
これは著者の意図を問う問題です。
設問では、著者は何故ここで、このような
”言葉”, “フレーズ”、“文”を引用したのか
が問われます。
Rhetoric (レトリック)とは、
著者が読者を説得させるために言葉を使いこなす技法です。
この設問の狙いは、
受験者がパラグラフや記述で使われたRhetoric が、
他の文章にどのような役割を果たしているかを試しています。
時には、一つの段落が他の段落に対し、
どのような役割を担っているか問われたりもします。
例えば、2段落目が1段落目の主張を補助するために
具体例を挙げるような場合です。
